Immortality is the endless continuation of human existence even after death. It is a fascinating concept that has taken root in our thinking since the very beginning of humankind. This continuing struggle and confrontation with mortality was already described around 2100 BC in the Gilgamesh epic. This epic describes a king's quest for eternal life after being confronted with the death of his friend. This surreal urge to be "more sustainable" is also expressed in other eras, including the present.
This pale looking, breathing and contracting, human skin visualizes digital immortality. It visualizes how this craving leads to artificiality.
